New peace of mind plan for used-car buyers

THE uncertainty of buying a used car can be overcome by using a new warranty scheme developed by John Griffin Auctioneers, writes DON ROBERTSON.

The High Road programme, which applies only to cars with a full service or maintenance record, involves a three-year or 60 000km service and repair option. The customer pays only for fuel and oil.

The programme covers the cost of replacing any part of the vehicle that fails under normal driving conditions as well as items such as exhausts, batteries and tyres. Servicing of the vehicle is included.

The cost of the warranty is added to the price of the vehicle.
