It's time to ride the technology waveBUSINESS TIMES is expanding again. From next week the paper will offer you an exciting new read on the world of technology. BT Technology will appear regularly in the main Business Times section on the first Sunday of each month. It will feature local and international technology news, with a strong focus on the Internet and its benefits for business. Next week's seven-page supplement will focus primarily on the "millenium bomb", the year 2000 factor which is giving computer groups around the world headaches. The SA 2000 User group will have its first meeting next week and we will report extensively on the debate and the solutions. We will be featuring articles on satellite TV, cellphones, Internet cafes and how the Receiver is trying (and failing) to catch and track business on the Net, and will introduce you to new satellite telephone technology. We will feature two monthly columists: a regular e-mail column by Microsoft's Bill Gates and, locally, Internet Solutions' Ronnie Apteker. Gates writes broadly on technology, while Apteker will focus on the benefits of the Net for businessmen, with tips on how to locate useful sites and how to sell goods on the Web. Needless to say, BT Technology will also be accessible on the Net. Don't miss the Sunday Times next week.
